It’s more than just land.

It’s our way of life.

The Neets’ąįį Gwich'in stand now, and forever, against development on the Arctic Refuge.

We have lived on this land for millennia, and we are still here. The land is not only part of our history, it is our future.  But, only if we protect it. After the 2021 leasing sale, only one company still seeks to develop this sacred land. This not only threatens the health of the natural landscape. It threatens the health and well-being of the Neets’ąįį Gwich'in Tribes who call the Arctic Refuge home.

We must fight for the protection of these lands.

It’s not just political. It’s our sovereign right.

Your elected leaders have the power to protect the Refuge. Send this letter to urge them to preserve our natural resources and way of life.

Dear [Leader],

The Arctic National Wildlife Refuge is at risk. I am writing in solidarity with the Gwich’in people who have lived in harmony with these lands for millennia. The Neets’ąįį Gwich'in people, who reside in Venetie and Arctic Village at the southern border of the Arctic Refuge, depend on the health of the Arctic Refuge for their physical, cultural, and spiritual well-being. Any oil and gas exploration or development in the refuge would not only be a desecration of lands that have been protected for decades. It would be a violation of the Neets’ąįį Gwich'in’s sovereign rights.

Expert hunters, the Neets’ąįį Gwich'in, live off this land as they have for millennia. As your constituent, I demand you stand with the Gwich'in people and honor their rights as a sovereign nation.

Thank you,
